Proud patron of The 149th Open and The AIG Women’s British Open
In light of developments due to the spread of COVID-19, the R&A are monitoring the situation closely and are undertaking a comprehensive evaluation of their plans for The 149th Open at Royal St George's and the AIG Women's British Open at Royal Troon, which are four and five months away respectively.
We’re proud to be a Patron and the Official Card of The Open. The original and most prestigious championship in professional golf, The Open is where the world's finest golfers set out for the honour of lifting one of sport’s most iconic trophies: The Claret Jug. Since 2012, we’ve been an Official Patron of this legendary competition and we look forward to continuing our association with legends of the sport like Tom Watson, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.
As Official Card of The Open, Mastercard relishes immersing cardholders in the rich history and excitement of the oldest and most prestigious championship in professional golf. Cardholders can enjoy complimentary access to the Mastercard Club within the Spectator Village with food and beverages to purchase as well as exclusive activity such as appearances by the Mastercard golf ambassadors.
The AIG Women’s British Open
In 2019, we became proud sponsors to The AIG Women’s British Open. Partnering with The R&A and ambassadors such as Annika Sorenstam, we’re building on our support of women’s golf and hoping to engage women and girls who are new to the game.
