Inspiring careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
Girls4Tech™ is our signature education programme that showcases our payments technology and engages our employees as role models and mentors—all with the goal to inspire a career in science, technology, engineering and math. Since the program’s launch in 2014, we’ve reached nearly 11,000 girls in the U.S., India, Germany, Italy, England, Australia, Argentina, Belgium, China, Brazil, Poland, Singapore and the U.A.E.
In the U.K., we've partnered with Go4SET, a programme developed by the Engineering Development Trust. Our employees serve as mentors for nine weeks, working with both boys and girls from ages 12 to 14 on STEM activities.
In Singapore, we support the Girls2Pioneers programme with UN women. Workshops are run by Mastercard employees who encourage girls between the ages of 10 and 15 through a series of STEM challenges. The programme has reached 6,000 girls in its first two years.
Supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and Mastercard have joined forces since 2010, inspiring students to dream-up, develop and launch their own businesses in the U.S., Belgium, Mexico and China. We support NFTE through our volunteering and several board memberships and have donated more than $4.5 million in support of NFTE's global mission.
